India’s women’s compound archery team equalled the world record on their way to gold at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Business Standard reports.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep beat China 238–234 in the final. Their score of 238 out of a possible 240 matched the mark set by South Korea at the 2014 Games in Incheon. Twenty-two of their 24 arrows hit the 10 ring, and Prithika and Jyothi each shot a perfect 80. They had already edged past South Korea by a single point in the semi-final.

It was Jyothi’s fourth Asian Games gold and a first for both of her teammates. India’s compound archers went on to sweep the team events that day, with the men’s and mixed teams also taking gold.
